My fellow Americans 🇺🇸—

We believe passports 🛂 make us citizens.

We believe flags 🏳️, pledges 🙋‍♂️, and Social Security cards 🧾 make us members of this great republic.

But let me tell you the hard truth 💥:

A passport gets you across borders 🌍✈️…

A deed 📜 gets you across the wealth gap 🏔️.

Without a deed, you’re not a citizen of the asset class 💳. You’re a tourist 👒 — disposable, temporary, tolerated.

The Numbers 🔢

📊 Homeownership = Political Power 🗳️

• Homeowners vote at higher rates than renters (by ~10–15%).

• Communities with high homeownership = more stable schools 🏫, safer streets 🚓, stronger representation 💼.

💰 Wealth Divide 💸

• Median homeowner net worth = $396,200.

• Median renter = $10,400.

• That’s not a passport check — that’s a border wall 🧱.

📈 Locked Out Generations 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓

• First-time homebuyers today make up the smallest share in decades 📉.

• Meanwhile, corporate landlords 🦈 scoop up homes by the thousands.

This isn’t renters’ fault ❌.

Think about it:

So I say to you today:

Ask not what your landlord can do for you 🙅‍♂️ — ask why the deed is treated like a passport 🛂 and locked away from the people 🗝️.

Solutions exist 💡:

• First-purchase rights for citizens before Wall Street 🦈.

• Build affordable starter homes like we build cars 🚗.

• Simplify buying a house so it’s as quick as buying a ticket 🎟️.

Because until every citizen can hold a deed 📜, many of us will remain foreigners in our own land 🌎.

The home is the new passport 🛂🏡 — and citizenship is not real until we all have one.
